We don’t blame him either, just LOOK at that little face! In fact, for Royalty’s birthday last year, Chris reportedly dropped a whopping $30k on a Frozen-themed party for his daughter. "I'll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honor of and to raise money for the victims and their families. I want to thank my fellow musicians and friends for reaching out to be a part of our expression of love for Manchester. "There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way," she also included. "We will conti

Federal judge tosses out life sentences for DC sniper Malvo

Image
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A federal judge has tossed out two life sentences for D.C. sniper Lee Boyd Malvo and ordered Virginia courts to hold new sentencing hearings. In a ruling issued Friday, U.S. District Judge Raymond Jackson in Norfolk said Malvo is entitled to new sentencing hearings after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that mandatory life sentences for juveniles are unconstitutional. Malvo was 17 when he was arrested in 2002 for a series of shootings that killed 10 people and wounded three in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, causing widespread fear throughout the region. His accomplice, John Allen Muhammad, was executed. Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Ray Morrogh, who helped prosecute Malvo, said the Virginia attorney general can appeal Jackson's ruling. If not, he said he would pursue another life sentence.

Computer wins 2nd game against Chinese go champion

Image
WUZHEN, China (AP) — A computer beat China's top player of go, one of the last games machines have yet to master, for a second time Thursday in a competition authorities limited the Chinese public's ability to see. Ke Jie lost despite playing what Google's AlphaGo indicated was the best game any opponent has played against it, said Demis Hassabis, founder of the company that developed the program. AlphaGo defeated Ke, a 19-year-old prodigy, in their first game Tuesday during a forum organized by Google on artificial intelligence in Wuzhen, a town west of Shanghai. They play a final game Saturday. AlphaGo previously defeated European and South Korean champions, surprising players who had expected it to be at least a decade before computers could master the game. Internet users outside China could watch this week's games live but Chinese censors blocked most mainland web users from seeing the Google site carrying the feed. None of China's dozens of video si

Mark Zuckerberg returned and collected an honorary degree 13 years after dropping out from Harvard University.

Image
He returned to the Ivy League school to address its graduating class. The Facebook CEO began his speech telling students, “You accomplished something I never could.” Zuckerberg had enrolled in Harvard College in 2002 and dropped out after two years without completing his degree. The 33-year-old had launched the social media platform, which was then known as “Thefacebook”, in his Harvard dorm room in 2004 where he also met Priscilla Chan. He made a 24-minute video from the Harvard dorm room and addressed while looking visibly excited. His parents also showed up to the school to help him pack up his belongings, and his friends threw him a goodbye party as well. Zuckerberg, who like the graduates is a millennial, started Facebook in his dorm room in 2004. What began as a closed networking site for Harvard students is now a global communications force with nearly 2 billion members. Zuckerberg follows another famous Harvard dropout, Bill Gates, who spoke before its graduates

Mariah Carey's Diva Behavior on a Movie Set Is As 'Bananas' As Co-Star (Audio)

Image
"Baywatch" actor Rob Huebel slammed Mariah Carey for being a diva on the set of the Will Ferrell-Amy Poehler comedy, "The House," in which she plays herself. Huebel opened up about shooting with the pop star for the upcoming comedy during a recent interview (below) on Entertainment Weekly's SiriusXM radio show, and apparently, "it did not go well." "F-cking, what is going on with her? It was bananas," Huebel said before rattling off his on-set grievances with the singer. Huebel said that Carey was "four hours late" to set for the one day she was scheduled to shoot and that she demanded her trailer be filled with "all white roses" and "stuffed lambs" (see tweet below), because that's what Carey's fans call themselves. The lambs are always in my heart #L4L pic.twitter.com/08xz5r53BK According to Huebel, Carey was paid quite well to perform only one song, which she decided the day of the sho

Hackers are hiding computer viruses in film subtitles to take control of devices

Image
Millions of people may be at risk from a new method of hacking that infects devices with hidden computer viruses in the subtitles of online videos, according to security researchers. Cybersecurity firm Check Point found that subtitle files for films and TV shows could be manipulated to allow hackers to take complete control over any type of device via vulnerabilities found in popular streaming platforms, including VLC, Popcorn-Time and Kodi. “The supply chain for subtitles is complex, with over 25 different subtitle formats in use, all with unique features and capabilities,” says Omri Herscovici, vulnerability research team leader at Check Point, in an email to  Newsweek  . “This fragmented ecosystem, along with limited security, means there are multiple vulnerabilities that could be exploited, making it a hugely attractive target for attackers.” Subtitles appear over a confrontation scene between a South Korean (L) and North Korean soldier from a movie titled "Joint S

MANCHESTER, England — President Trump ordered the Justice Department to probe alleged information leaks by U.S. officials regarding the deadly concert bombing investigation here after British authorities announced Thursday they would stop sharing intelligence because of leaks of confidential and sensitive details about the case. The clash over leaks came as police announced "significant" arrests and said searches conducted in the area have turned up crucial evidence in the probe. Police said eight men remain in custody following the attack Monday night. British soldiers and police stand guard near the Houses of Parliament of London on May 25, 2017. Leaks from U.S. government agencies have been occurring for a long time and are "deeply troubling," Trump said in a statement issued by the White House. He said they pose a "grave threat" to national security. "I am asking the Department of Justice and other relevant agencies to launch a complete

'RHONY' Return to The Berkshires Where Luann Is Grilled About Tom

Image
The Real Housewives of New York returned to The Berkshires on Wednesday night's episode, and birthday girl Dorinda Medley took measures to ensure it wasn't a "shit show" like last year. Aside from a toppled birthday cake, growing tension between roommates Sonja Morgan and Tinsley Mortimer and rumors surrounding Tom D'Agostino's continued infidelity, the getaway was all tinsel and gingerbread men -- except it wasn't. "You never know what's gonna happen at The Berkshires," Bethenny Frankel told confessional cams. "You could put me in a house with Jack Nicholson in the middle of the Goddamn woods in a snowstorm with a maze attached to it, and I'll be more comfortable than coming to Dorinda's house in The Berkshires." Once Bethenny arrived, it was straight to closed quarters with Carole Radziwill, where the two discussed Luann D'Agostino's upcoming wedding and how to handle the rumors they've heard regarding

Here's What a Bodybuilding Judge Has to Say About Zac Efron's BaywatchBody

Image
Zac Efron brings many talents to the movie reboot of Baywatch: he rides a motorcycle, struts in heels and expertly conveys the kind of entitlement that only an ego-inflated, IQ-deficient celebrity athlete can possess. But if you’ve heard his name mentioned in the same breath as Baywatch, it’s likely the words “abs,” “workout” or “insanely jacked” were not far behind. There are no two ways about it: though Efron’s frequent shirtlessness has previously laid bare his commitment to physical fitness, he seems to have reached peak abs in this new film. His diet consisted, for a time, only of "organic grass fed/free range protein and organic leafy greens." In one scene, dude actually carries two refrigerators on his back. But should he ever decide he needs a break from movie-making, he would have a bright future as a physique competitor, according to Steve Weinberger, head judge for the National Physique Committee and the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness a

Manchester Bomber Known to U.S. Authorities Before Attack; Father, Brother Arrested

Image
MANCHESTER, England — The suicide bomber who killed 22 people after an Ariana Grande concert was part of a network that included his brother, who was arrested Wednesday as he was allegedly  plotting a terrorist attack on the Libyan capital of Tripoli. The revelation came as British troops were deployed to protect landmarks in major cities and six more suspects, including suspected bomber Salman Abedi's father were arrested. "It is very clear this is a network we are investigating," Manchester police chief Ian Hopkins said. "We are carrying out extensive searches." Meanwhile, NBC News reported that the 22-year-old Abedi was also on the radar of the U.S. intelligence community. Manchester Attack: Father and Brothers of Suspected Bomber Arrested Abedi's brother Hashem and his father, Ramadan, were arrested in Tripoli by the local militia, NBC News' U.K. partner ITV News reported. Hashem Abedi had been under investigation for more than a mo

It is easy to bypass the new Samsung Galaxy s8 scanner with a photo

Image
Samsung recently launched its new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, with both Facial and IRIS Recognition features, making it easier for users to unlock their smartphone and signing into websites. We already knew that the Galaxy S8's facial unlock feature could be easily fooled with just a simple photograph of the device owner, but now hackers have also discovered a simple way to bypass the iris-based authentication, which Samsung wants you to think is unbeatable. All it took for German hacking group Chaos Computer Club (CCC) to break the Galaxy S8's iris-recognition system was nothing but a camera, a printer, and a contact lens.  The white hat hacking group also published a video showing how to defeat Samsung's iris scanner. The process was very simple. The CCC group simply used the night mode setting on a Sony digital camera to capture a medium range photo of their subject. Since the iris scanner uses infrared light, the group then

BBC fools HSBC voice recognition security system

Image
BBC Click reporter Dan Simmons set up an HSBC account and signed up to the bank's voice ID authentication service. HSBC says the system is secure because each person's voice is "unique". But the bank let Dan Simmons' non-identical twin, Joe, access the account via the telephone after he mimicked his brother's voice. The bank said it would "review" ways to make the ID system more sensitive following the BBC investigation. 'Really alarming' HSBC introduced the voice-based security in 2016, saying it measured 100 different characteristics of the human voice to verify a user's identity. Customers simply give their account details and date of birth and then say: "My voice is my password". Although the breach did not allow Joe Simmons to withdraw money, he was able to access balances and recent transactions, and was offered the chance to transfer money between accounts. "What's really alarming is that the

Mp3 is officially dead as founders terminate licensing program

Image
MP3 changed the way we listen to music, as we shifted from bulky Walkmans to compact digital listening devices. But the digital audio encoding format has now been officially confirmed as dead by the people who invented it. MP3 has widely been credited with turning the music world on its head by allowing digital audio to be compressed without significantly impacting the quality of the sound. But the Fraunhofer Institute officially terminated its licensing program for certain MP3-related patents, in a move widely interpreted by tech experts as MP3's "official death warrant". Yes, you can still listen to MP3 files While the move is fairly symbolic — you can still use MP3 files if you want to — the removal of support for the format signals an official shift in the industry. Better quality formats that offer more efficient compression and more functionality are now the standard. And of course streaming is now a popular way many people listen to music and oth

HACKERS HIT DOZENS OF COUNTRIES EXPLOITING STOLLEN N. S. A TOOL

Image
SAN FRANCISCO — Hackers exploiting malicious software stolen from the National Security Agency executed damaging cyberattacks on Friday that hit dozens of countries worldwide, forcing Britain’s public health system to send patients away, freezing computers at Russia’s Interior Ministry and wreaking havoc on tens of thousands of computers elsewhere. The attacks amounted to an audacious global blackmail attempt spread by the internet and underscored the vulnerabilities of the digital age. Transmitted via email, the malicious software locked British hospitals out of their computer systems and demanded ransom before users could be let back in — with a threat that data would be destroyed if the demands were not met. By late Friday the attacks had spread to more than 74 countries, according to security firms tracking the spread. Kaspersky Lab, a Russian cybersecurity firm, said Russia was the worst-hit, followed by Ukraine, India and Taiwan. Reports of attacks also came from Latin
